"God owns the cattle on a thousand mountains, we need not be vegetarians." J. Hudson Taylor
Ian is a missionary with Converge. He depends on God's provision through the sacrificial giving of the body of Christ--both churches and individuals.
His support goal is approximately $7500/per month as a career missionary to Japan. Japan is one of the most expensive countries to serve as a missionary. This amount covers his housing, salary, ministry expenses, organizational overhead, taxes, healthcare and retirement.
Ian arrived in Japan for his first term in the summer of 2014. After two years of intensive language study he worked in partnership with a local church doing evangelism and discipleship. Additionally he spent several years working as a volunteer with a Christian ministry ministering to Japanese college students. He returned to Japan for his second term beginning the middle of June 2019.
His hope is to be used by God to catalyze a 'Church Planting Movement' among Japanese young people--making disciples that make disciples.
Ian has a network of about fifteen partner churches (primarily from the Pacific Northwest) as well as a strong group of individual supporters.
Please consider how you might partner together with Ian to reach the Japanese with the Gospel. Even if you are not able to partner with Ian financially at this time, he covets your prayers and hopes that you will be an advocate for him before the throne of God and with others. You can find out how to give towards Ian's ministry at Converge's website.
